NSU Emergency Relief Fund

Dear Norfolk State University Alumni and Friends,

Our highest priority is the safety and health of our NSU Community. NSU is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and its impact in the Commonwealth. We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy.

As we work to slow the spread of the coronavirus, our students have been successfully engaging in online and remote learning provided by our wonderful faculty.  Our staff and administrators, on-campus and telecommuting, are working diligently to support the functions that have allowed us to successfully continue all of our operations.

We are heartened by your caring desire to help ease some of the challenges that our students are facing during this time of uncertainty.  Therefore, we have established the NSU Emergency Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to our students in need.

A gift to this fund will support the following:

  • Transportation expenses.
  • Rent and living expenses due to job loss or reduced hours.
  • Childcare, utilities and/or medical expenses.

Please help us meet the most pressing and immediate needs, of our students by visiting here to make a financial gift to this relief fund. Your generosity can give our students the ability to overcome the difficult obstacles presented by COVID-19.  All funds will be made out to the appropriate vendor and confirmed prior to disbursement to avoid misappropriation.  Funds will not be approved for non-emergencies.

While our hearts are uneasy and the future is uncertain, I know Spartans everywhere are praying and responding courageously to this COVID-19 crisis.  Thank you for all you do to continue making Norfolk State University a place of opportunity and pride.

Be safe and healthy,

Javaune Adams-Gaston, Ph.D.
