kaykla robinsonKayla Dio Robinson graduated from Norfolk State University in December 2020 with a B.S. in Computer Science. During her time at NSU as a CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service (SFS) scholar, Robinson completed three internships with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in hopes to begin a lifelong career in the aerospace industry post-graduation. In April 2021, she accepted a Computer Engineering position with NASA Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Services Program in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Robinson proudly attributes her ability to meet this goal to the valuable skills she learned from knowledgable and passionate professors at NSU and her unique out-of-the-classroom experiences with SFS and NASA.

george hsiehChung-Chu Hsieh, PhD, Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, received a modification for the grant entitled, “Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity,” that was awarded by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This modification is in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for the project period June 01, 2020 through May 31, 2021.

samuel olatunbosunSamuel BO Olatunbosun, D.Sc. Associate Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Undergraduate Programs, with Drs. Yen-Hung Hu and Mary Ann Hoppa (Associate Professors of Computer Science), received notification for the grant entitled, “Addendum to the DoD HSAP/URAP Proposal for Summer 2020” in support of their initial proposal entitled “Real Time Persistent Threats (APTs) Simulation, Modeling, Detection and Mitigation Using an Integrated High Performance Machine Learning Platform,” that was awarded by the Department of Defense, (DoD). This modification is in the amount of $14,575.00 for the project period Summer 2020 through August 31, 2020.

Rising Star of the Year Award

Brianeisha Eure, ISSM, SPAWAR Atlantic, Medical Information Delivery, Defense Health Agency

Brianeisha Eure received the Department of the Navy Cyberspace/Information Technology Rising Star of the Year Award at the DON IT Conference on April 24, 2018.

This award goes to individuals who display visionary thinking, innovation, and superior leadership skills in delivering IT to support the DON's mission. Each year the award is presented to a member of the Department's Cyber/IT workforce whose accomplishments highlight that person as a future leader, and my performance as Information Systems Security Manager for the Defense Health Agency's big data analytics enclave, Medical Information Delivery, marked me as such.  Read article
