Licensure Disclosure

In accordance with federal disclosure regulations and State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) policies, institutions must disclose whether a program leading to professional licensure or certification meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification in all US States and territories regardless of the delivery mode of the program.

Norfolk State University publishes the academic programs that lead to Professional Licensure or Certification below. NSU's educational programs that lead to licensure or certifications are designed to meet Virginia's licensure/certification requirements and prepare students to apply for licensure exams in States outside of Virginia. Each State and territory may have different professional licensure and certification requirements. Other States may require individuals to obtain additional coursework, additional fieldwork, background checks, the passage of additional state licensing exams, additional fees, or other requirements.

The State professional licensing boards determine whether or not an individual will be eligible to sit for licensure based on the rules and regulations in place when the individual submits his or her application for licensure. Please be advised that state laws, regulations, and policies may change at any time. The University will reassess and update the information in the table below by July 1 each year.
