DNIMAS Program
The Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences (DNIMAS) is a rigorous honors program for students who major in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics. The program was created to reduce the shortage of scientists by producing highly trained graduates capable of earning the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and medical degrees.
The program provides: a partial academic scholarship and/or grant aid which covers a certain percentage of:
- tuition
- fees
- room and board
- book allowance
Scholarship recipients must:
- attend a four-week summer session before the freshman year;
- enroll in required honors courses each semester;
- participate in summer research/internship programs at some of the nation's premier laboratories and universities;
- maintain at least a (3.3 on a 4.0 scale) average at all times, and earn no final grade lower than "C";
- make satisfactory progress towards a degree each semester;
- fulfill the requirements of the Peer Tutoring and Mentoring Program; and
- live in the Honors College Residence Hall (Mid-Rise Residential Hall).
How to Apply
Students are admitted to the DNIMAS Program from high school for the fall semester of each academic year.
The deadline for applications for regular admission is December 15th. Prospective DNIMAS students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1st.
