Norfolk State University giving societies recognize the committed alumni and friends who contribute financially to the University. These giving societies encompass a special community of investors who serve as the foundation for growth at NSU. We welcome your involvement at any of a number of levels.
The Norfolk State University Society
The Norfolk State University Society recognizes those individuals who donate restricted and unrestricted gifts of $1,000-$49,999 in a single fiscal year. The members of this prestigious group are honored with a green and gold lapel pin in the shape of a shield, which designates the year of their contribution.
The Emerald Society
The Emerald Society recognizes individuals whose lifetime giving to Norfolk State University is $50,000-$99,999. The members of this prestigious group are honored with an elegant lapel pin with a green emerald. Upon reaching this milestone, new members to this society are inducted every 1-2 years on average.
The Lyman Beecher Brooks Society
The Lyman Beecher Brooks Society recognizes individuals whose lifetime giving to Norfolk State University has reached $100,000 or more. The members of this prestigious group are honored with a Lyman Beecher Brooks medallion. Upon reaching this milestone, new members of this prestigious society are inducted every five years.
