Next Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

Once you have been admitted please follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.

Step One - Access Student Email & My NSU
Access your university email address and MyNSU account

Step Two - Check your financial aid award/status
Submit your financial aid application or check award status using School code: 00375

Step Three - Transfer Confidential Dean's Report
Transfer Students are required to submit the Dean’s Report to their last school attended Dean of Student’s department. The form must be completed and submitted to the Office of Transfer Admissions & Services at transfer@nsu.edu or Fax (757) 823-2054 in order to complete course registration.

Step Four: Confirm your Enrollment
Navigate to MyNSU to access the link to set-up your NSU email account. Upon completion, please click the Spartan Self-Service tab within MyNSU to pay the required deposits.  Once you have made a payment, you will receive a confirmation email with your NSU New Student Orientation code.  Payments are also accepted by calling NSU's Cashier Office (757) 823-8545.  The Priority deadline is June 1.

Step Five - Complete the on-campus housing application
To begin the housing application process, please read the information on the housing application webpage carefully and complete the entire process. Both the housing application and the deposit must be received by the respective deadline to guarantee housing. Housing deposits are non-refundable.  Priority deadline is June 1*   

Step Six - Complete & Submit Required Health Forms
Complete and submit your required health forms through the Med+Proctor website.  Do not submit these forms to the Spartan Health Center or NSU Admissions Office.  The deadline is August 1.

Step Seven - Register for Transfer Orientation
Orientation is required for all students enrolling in fall and spring terms (mini term and summer sessions excluded). The orientation fee must be paid prior to reserving your orientation date.  Payments can be made through your MyNSU account or over the phone at (757) 823-8545.  Within 24-hours after you have made your payment, you will receive a confirmation email with the NSU New Student Orientation registration link.

Mini-Term or Summer Semester
 

For New Transfer Students Beginning Classes​ in a Mini-Term or Summer Semester:

New Student Orientation is not required for students enrolled in the mini term session.  If you are transferring a minimum of 60 credits, advising and registration will be in your academic department.  If you are transferring less than 60 credits, you will be advised and registered for courses in the Patricia Lynch Stith Student Success Center.  Below are the links for your respective Academic College or School for your major.
