The Master of Urban Affairs degree program is structured to meet the career development needs of adults desiring to work in urban administration or professional positions that address urban issues. Career opportunities exist in local, state and federal government, as well as in the business and non-profit sectors. As over half the world population lives in or near urban areas, the study of urban affairs represents an important discipline.


Degree Requirements

36 Credit hours of course work

  • Core courses: 15 credits
  • Electives: 15 credits
  • ​Thesis or Comprehensive Examination: 6 credits

Admission Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, or the equivalent from a foreign country.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) on undergraduate coursework.
  • Three letters of recommendation from persons capable of adequately assessing the applicant's potential of success in the program.

  • Letter of Intent

Conditional Admission:
Applicants who do not qualify for regular admission will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
