Nursing Programs
Norfolk State University offers two paths to acheiving your Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.
The Traditional Nursing Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) is a highly competitive pre-licensure program that prepares students as generalists in the practice of professional nursing. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX–RN).
Pre-licensure Traditional BSN
The RN-BSN program is offered for nurses who have already taken the NCLEX-RN and are ready to take the next step in their career by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Allied Health Programs
Allied Health offers a Master of Healthcare Administration; Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management; a Certificate of Completion in Health Services Management; a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management with a Food Science and Nutrition Concentration (FSN).
Master of Public Health Program
The MPH Program educates students to apply evidence-based public health approaches that prevent injury and disease to support the delivery of health services. The program provides students with an understanding of public health and health equity in relation to analysis and interventions aimed at protecting and improving the health of all individuals and communities. Students learn how to formulate research questions based on social and behavioral models, design studies, and collect data. Students learn to analyze and interpret health data and information (e.g., reports, academic research, and the design of health promotion activities) for public health officers and managers to improve programs, policies, and services.
The MPH program provides students with knowledge and skills that address public health challenges (e.g., health disparities among specific segments of the population and high prevalence of chronic diseases, such as diabetes). The program produces graduates who possess the appropriate foundational knowledge and skills to apply principles and concepts of public health and health equity to analysis and interventions of health outcomes.
