The College of Liberal Arts embraces ten academic departments in the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. The departments are English and Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, General Studies, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Mass Communications and Journalism, Music, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. The Army ROTC program is located in the College of Liberal Arts as well. Students in the College of Liberal Arts have access to a wealth of learning experiences.
The School offers students an opportunity to understand and appreciate world cultures as reflected in languages and the arts; enhance communication and interpersonal skills; and prepare for careers supported by studies in the liberal, creative, performing, and media arts. The social sciences deal with the relationships of mankind. Whether from an economic, political, sociological, psychological or historical perspective, the focus as well as the interest of the social sciences, is on the human condition.
