NSU to Sponsor Trip to the 2008 Honda Battle of the
Bands in Atlanta
Norfolk, Va.—The
Norfolk State University Alumni Travel Program is
sponsoring a bus trip to the 2008 Honda Battle of the
Bands Invitational Showcase in Atlanta, January 25-27,
2008.
Open to alumni and friends of the university, the bus
trip is being sponsored to support the NSU Spartan
Legion Marching Band. For the second consecutive year,
the Spartan Legion is one of ten historically black
colleges and universities marching bands selected to
participate at the 6th Annual Honda Battle of
the Bands.
The cost of the trip, which includes bus transportation,
hotel accommodations, a battle of the bands ticket, an
alumni reception, an NSU Battle of the Bands t-shirt,
and a noisemaker, is $210 per person. A payment plan of
four installments of $52.50 is available. A
non-refundable deposit of $52.50 is due no later than
Tuesday, November 27. Make checks payable to NSU Alumni

The lineup of colleges set to march at the George Dome,
in the largest and only national scholarship program
showcasing pageantry, heritage and showmanship of black
college bands for 2008 is as follows: Norfolk State
University, Virginia State University, Shaw University,
Bethune-Cookman University, Tuskegee University, Albany
State University, Texas Southern University, University
of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, North Carolina Central
University and Winston-Salem State University.
