Lead Virginia Conference: Linking Leaders with a
Statewide View to be Held Oct. Oct. 20-22
Norfolk, Va.— Elsie Barnes, vice president for academic
affairs at Norfolk State University, and Richard
Summerville, provost at Christopher Newport University,
are co-chairs for the upcoming Lead Virginia conference
for statewide leaders, which will be held October 20-22
at various locations throughout Hampton Roads.
Lead Virginia connects diverse leaders to promote a
statewide perspective about the quality of life in the
Commonwealth. Participants in this educational forum
grapple with challenges, opportunities and major issues
facing the Commonwealth. Technology, health, military,
government, education, economic development, industry,
immigration and transportation are among the topics
participants explore.
The goal of the program is to help these leaders
understand more about economic development in Virginia
from a statewide perspective so that Virginia can have a
better future.
NSU alumnus Julien Patterson, president and CEO of
Ominiplex World Services, Corp., along with several
business leaders from Hampton Roads will be
participating in the Lead Virginia sessions.
