Darien Dash, Founder and CEO of DME Interactive Holdings, Inc. to Speak at May Commencement
Norfolk, Va.-Darien Dash, founder and chief executive officer of DME Interactive Holdings, Inc., will speak at Norfolk State University's commencement ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 12 at William "Dick" Price Stadium.

At age 29, Dash heads DME Interactive Holdings, Inc., the first African American Internet Company to be publicly traded. It is also the parent company of Digital Mafia Entertainment, which was founded in August 1994. He formed Digital Mafia, an advanced technologies company that provides high-quality products and services to enhance the sales, productivity and competitiveness of their clients. DME is dedicated to "expanding the hardware and software infrastructure in minority communities."

DME is also a full-service interactive agency that specializes in advanced technology solutions through the creation of digital products and service including internet and web site development, maintenance, turnkey electronic sales solutions, on-line advertising and software creation.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Dash was the eastern region marketing and sales director of Digital Music Express, a division of the International Cablecasting Technologies. He was responsible for marketing sales of the first digitally compressed music service delivered by this cable giant. He also designed new media marketing and promotion plans for a number of Fortune 500 companies.

A native of the Bronx, N.Y., Dash received a bachelor's degree in political science and leadership from the University of Southern California.
