August 2007 A fulltime Fullbright sponsored Islamic Studies Scholar will be resident
at Norfolk State University.
June 24 - July 20, 2007
“Calculus
Readiness” Summer Institute. In addition to preparing students for
required calculus within their engineering programs this workshop will include
critical thinking, analytical skills and an introduction to the mission and
function of the 16 intelligence agencies.

The International Association for Intelligence Education Third Annual Conference: "Professionalizing Intelligence".
The International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE) will be holding a conference on 11-12 June 2007 in the Washington DC area on the subject of "Professionalizing Intelligence." The conference website is here:

For those of you unfamiliar with IAFIE, I am on its board of directors (as chair of the Communications Committee), and point you to the following website for additional information:
http://www.iafie.org/ The short description of IAFIE is that it is an association of approx 300 members devoted to:
- expanding research, knowledge, and professional development in intelligence education;
- providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information for those interested in and concerned with intelligence education;
- advancing the intelligence profession by setting standards, building resources, and sharing knowledge in intelligence studies;
- fostering relationships and cultivating cooperation among intelligence professionals in academia, business, and government;
- developing, disseminating, and promoting theory, curricula, methodologies, techniques, and best practices for pure and applied intelligence;
- and
serving as a liaison between other professional organizations and centers of excellence.

selected IC-CAE participants to increase global
awareness through language and cultural immersion.
April 2007
April 9-13, 2007 Norfolk State University’s Inaugural week. This will mark
the official establishment of the IC-CAE at Norfolk State University and a new Video Tele-training suite
that will support IC-CAE training.

Intelligence Colloquia. Mr. Andrew Hale will address the DNIMAS students during
their weekly seminar. Mr. Hale is an expert on Islamic culture and is a former
British Intelligence Officer.

January 3, 2007 Mr. John Mack joins IC-CAE staff as the Executive Program
Coordinator.
January 9, 2007 First Arabic class offered at Norfolk State University as
part of IC-CAE IDEAS program.
January 10, 2007 Mr. Robert Ivery, Director of the Center for Technology
Management at the CIA visits Norfolk State University.

October 2, 2006 Key IC-CAE project staff met to develop program management
strategy.
October 10, 2006 Curriculum Committee for the School of Science and
Technology approves the National Security Certificate Program (NCS). This includes
more than 50 course students can chose from for the NSC.
