Student Employment

Part-time work for full time students

NSU CS provides assistance to students seeking off-campus opportunities. Placement contracts are maintained with employers throughout the Hampton Roads area.

Job listings are posted on the employment board and within the job announcement books in CS. Job listings/announcements are posted daily.

Student Employment, On-Campus Recruitment, Off-Campus Referrals

NSU CS has developed a network of employers who contact us when they have job vacancies. The employers are provided resumes of qualified applicants from the CS credentials files.

To be eligible for this service, students must be registered and have a credentials file in CS.

Internships

NSU CS provides campus wide coordination of career related work experiences for students. Work may be done for a academic credit with departmental approval and may be paid or non-paid.

Internships are available for both the academic school year and the summer. Available internships are posted in the internship notebook with CS.

Job Vacancy Announcements

Full-time and part-time CS opportunities are posted in binders and on the CS bulletin board. Listings are updated daily.

Credentials File

With CS assistance, students develop and maintain credential files within CS. Included in credentials files are five copies of the student's resume printed on quality resume paper.

Also included are three letters of recommendation and an office copy of the student's transcript.

Resumes from credentials files are provided to employers participating in the off-campus referral program.

CS will mail credentials files to prospective employers on the request of students and graduates.
