The Department of Allied Health is a multifaceted department.  The purpose of the department is to educate students in the preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of health care.  The respective professional associations accredit all of the programs, which require accreditation at the undergraduate level.

The Department of Allied Health offers majors, concentrations, or certificates in the disciplines of Communication Sciences Disorders, Food Science and Nutrition, Health Services Management and Medical Technology.

A Bachelor of Science degree is awarded in Communication Sciences Disorders, Health Services Management and Medical Technology.

Additionally, the Health Services Management program offers a certificate program that awards a certificate of completion.

Objectives of the Department

  1. To provide curricular offerings and clinical education which will allow student to work in health care administration, health information management, health maintenance, and in disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  1. To instill a sense of ethical responsibility.
  1. To prepare students for entry-level positions in the health care industry.
