ACCESS

Procedures

During the weeks prior to the beginning of each fall semester, application forms are made available via the website, and email to all incoming freshmen students and faculty/staff. All those who apply become members of the mentoring program. Participation is entirely voluntary.

Orientations sessions are offered to faculty/staff, and students before they are matched one-to-one on the basis of the mutual interests. Once a match is placed, a confirmation letter is mailed to both parties, informing them of each other’s name, address (departmental, student local, and e-mail), and phone number.

The program organizes various events throughout the semester to provide opportunities for faculty and student interaction. The program coordinator meets and communicates with the participants to promote a meaningful mentoring experience.
