Spartan Men of Valor and Excellence
|

MISSION STATEMENT
Mentoring is an intentional effort
by the university to influence male students to become positive members
of society.
The activities between the mentor and mentee are jointly determined by
the mentor and mentee focused on imparting skills that would cause male students to be
successful in school and translate into future aspirations beyond college.
Mentoring will have a focus on a relationship and the flexibility of an
adult volunteer to spend time just talking with their mentee about academic and non academic subjects.
The program also seeks to bring positive awareness and acknowledgement to male students
in an effort to not only promote retention and academic success, but to provide
inspiration and the motivation needed to reach their goals.
